Announcement!

I have to admit that I've been a little lax on my post lately. BUT there's a reason that I want to share with you. I've been working my fingers to the bone creating an entirely new website! On this website you will find the results of my first love: Paintings. I've been painting almost everyday and feel the need to take you on my journey as I become the next Pollock. I just can't seem to put the brush down and have decided to stop hiding my true love!

We decided that we wanted a more centralized place where we can have our own creative work on display (instead of Etsy), so I've been hard at work coding out and creating the new site. Don't worry nothing is happening to this one though ( I'll just have a link over to the new one on my nav bar).

WITH THAT BEING SAID- I wanted to announce that I'll be taking a little break to work on my new site; possibly a week or two, just to make sure my new baby is taken care of in it's infant stage :)

Above is a sneak peek of a few of my paintings as well as a peek of the user friendly site. I plan on selling mainly paintings with prints and Josh's concrete creations as well, but who knows what else we might create! ( Ray and Charles anyone?  :)

I'm so excited to finally tell you and can't wait to share it with you all!

Old folks and computers...

My parents are going to kill me for saying this but this sort of reminds me of them. My mom managed to flip her computer screen upside down once and thought she got some crazy virus. HA.

Happy Fasha's Day!

Do you remember how Goldmember would refer to Austin's father as Fasha in Austin Powers in Goldmember? Well ever since that movie (NINE years ago!), that's what I've called my dad. I'm sure he loves it. Here's to you my fasha...I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Family Portrait

I have a friend whom is looking to do a unique family portrait. Isn't this just the most adorable way to display your growing family? Now if I could only learn to sew... :/

Two of these things don't belong...

Let me just preface this by saying: I forgot my brain at home today.

It was pouring rain when I stopped by my parent's house to pay them a visit during my lunch break today. Because I didn't want to get my awesome new leather BCBG heels soaked, I took them off and dashed tippy-toed down their driveway to the front door ( we ladies do crazy things for our shoes, right?). I thought I had left the heels in my car but had actually run in the house with them tucked in my arms. And this was finally realized when I got back to work with NO shoes.

So for the rest of the day I humbly walked around the office with muddy New Balance sneakers that had been left in my trunk from God only knows when. This girl = pure business woman special.

P.S. This is hell my lovely office where I live 40+ hours each week. Now you see why I started my fun lil blog? :)

P.S.S. This barely beats the time I wore two different shoes to the office. Barely.

Reuse Old Soda Bottles

How neat is this idea? I'm obsessed with bangles ( I really do have WAY too many!), why not condense them with an old soda bottle? Pure genius!

A MUST read {For all my ladies}

Let me be honest..I'm not a big book reader. There's something about getting lost in a book that I don't like. That being, I'm a bit of an extremist and I tend to take things too far ( I'm just being honest). You present me with a fictional character and I will psychoanalyze the author about WHY they did this..or WHY they did that- I want to sit down a FICTIONAL character and discuss their FICTIONAL life issues with them. It's a little-no- a lot extreme, but dammit it's the truth!

One book that I can't for the LIFE of me get tired of is Gifts from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. It makes me think..clearly. It makes me realize that I'm not the only woman in America who feels pressure, a book which makes sense of the circus act we women do in our every day lives. We're tough and we work hard to balance everything that pulls at us everyday, let's give ourselves some credit!

If you haven't read this book then run to your nearest bookstore and get it immediately. No matter what situation you're in, where you are in your life, you'll appreciate what it has to offer. That's the best way I can describe it.

Happy Friday my lovely ladies! :)

Neon mini

Oh how I love the neon minis I'm seeing right now. So hot. What's funny is that I rocked neon skirts as an 80's kid. Now I can finally say that annoying phrase that we've all heard our mothers say a thousand times: I wore that when I was younger.

NOT cool.

Have an exciting weekend.

My friends, what are your plans this weekend? Getting into anything fun? We hear it's going to be around 101 degrees in our area this weekend so Josh and I will be spending most of our time at our country club pool trying to stay cool. Tonight we're continuing our anniversary celebration (although this time in our hometown) to our favorite local restaurant Amsterdam Cafe. If you ever visit auburn Amsterdam is a MUST!

I'm working on gathering all of our photos from our trip and plan on sharing with you next week. Have a wonderful weekend and try to stay cool!
