My new watch necklace.
Urban Outfitters |
Josh likes to call me Flavor Flav every time I wear it. But as for me, I just call it dang cute. Tell me, when would be a better time to wear one than on the one night you're frantically watching the clock? I shall wear my Flavor Flav necklace and wear it proud.

If you're having trouble coming up with a festive centerpiece or overall NYE party decorations you might want to try this extremely simple lantern tutorial.
All you need is...
All you need is...
• Tape or needle and thread
• Scissors
• Pack of foil doilies ( around $2 a pack, the larger ones work best)
Simply cut out the already made pattern and remove whatever parts you want light shining through. Tape together each 'leaf' or side with a small piece of tape or you can sew the ends if you wish. Add a metal bottom tea light candle and you're done!

Delectable Holiday Dessert
This Christmas I'm making my staple holiday dessert- the Candy Cane Cake. It's always tends to be a hit and always looks so pretty sitting on the dessert table!:)
I have to make another cake and can't decide what to go with. Got any good suggestions?

On The Wish List...
Another biggie on my wish list this year is this House of Harlow Gold/Leather Aztec Bangle by Nicole Richie. How cute are these? I could see myself wearing one from work to a weekend party. I've asked santa for the one in black :)
Here are a few gals we all know sporting one:

Stylish Winter Coat
This Christmas I've asked for a durable yet stylish winter jacket. I'm officially sick and tired of wearing my ratty ole' Northface jacket everyday to work (that I got 6 years ago in college no less). It just doesn't scream 'I'm a serious business woman' if ya know what I mean :) You can never go wrong with a good peacoat ( see J.Crew's version here).
What style of jacket is your main 'go-to' everyday?

Inspirational Christmas Decor

When I saw this image I fell so in love that I instantly wanted to do the same (except my ribbons were red instead of white). If you celebrate Christmas what decor are you putting up for the season?

Christmas Card Inspiration
As you all know I am never one for tradition, so why should creating my very first holiday card be any different? Behold, I bring you my official Christmas card inspiration! Yes, it's wacky, but I can't bear to go the generic Christmas card route. I just can't do it...
Once I saw Glee's greeting card I was done. I set up an at-home photo shoot and came up with my own little take on it. And as he usually does, my oh so patient hubby just laughed and went along with it, God bless him :)
Stay tuned! I'll show you my finished card in a few days.

War Eagle
Our team (Auburn Tigers) just won the SEC Championship! Hopefully this will be not be the last rolling of Toomer's Corner we get to have. On to the national championship ye olde Tigers!
So many of my friends think it's hilarious how crazy my family is over Auburn football. I guess you could say it runs deep in our blood. My grandpa played for Auburn right before he was drafted for the Army during the Vietnam War. I can't help but to sport the orange and blue!

Something To Try For The Holidays...
How cute would this fur stole be for a festive holiday party? I actually have a vintage (and real..gulp) stole that my grandmother gave me years ago. I think I can finally wear it in a trendy way instead of looking like a child playing dress up!

Thanksgiving Vacay: Part 2
We decided to make a stop in Wilmington, NC to see the USS North Carolina Battleship and take a tour the town. I was so pumped to get on that ship!
But I had come all this way and then, as it usually does, my persistence took over...
I saw a child coming down the ramp to the exit only doors ( there were no door handles on my side), and just as quickly as he opened the door I impulsively jumped on to the deck and scurried up the ramp to the ship. I felt like such a rebel!
With my size the crew probably thought I was just a kid and ignored me, but unfortunately Josh and his 6'5" self couldn't make it without being noticed. So I relished in my rebellious moment and toured the ship by myself. It was a blast!
