And the 2011 Pantone color of the year is...

Pantone gives it to Honeysuckle 18-2120! I think it's a pretty bold color to be the color of the year, but I guess that's what they're going for. They're definitely going to have to prove it's sticking around power in my opinion. And I'm sure some folks are going to get it horribly wrong. Horribly.

Here's what Pantone says:

While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.

So what do you really think? Are you a fan?

  1. I'm all about RED! So, not really my color of the year choice for 2011.
Also, I totally agree some people could get this tragically wrong. LOL

  2. It looks like if done right it'd work... but I'm not sure too many people are going to do it right. We'll just have to see!

  3. Maybe for a bandeau bikini... or a scarf. I'm with you, people will either hit it dead on or totally mess it up!

  6. I knew from insiders that Honeysuckle was going to be the color of the year, but had no idea what it looked like. I don't find it that attractive.
